United Methodist Women
Meetings are held in members homes on the third Monday of each month.
We provide help for the needs of people locally, state-wide, nationally and internationally. We sponsor a Gong/No Gong Show each year that provides non-perishable items to the New Kent Food Pantry. We provide health kits each year to Conference of the United Methodist Church. In May 2006 we held a Tea with speakers on Domestic Violence and the men of Providence served the ladies.

Welcome to Providence United Methodist Church! We reach out through various mission and ministry opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Providence Church strives to welcome, invite, and embrace people from all walks of life to grow in the knowledge and love of God and one another. We believe in the power of prayer and come together to earnestly endeavor to discern God’s direction both in our daily lives and in the life of the church. Our Providence Church family encourages one another in the faith and reaches out to each other in challenging times.
Providence Church is a part of The United Methodist Church (UMC), connecting us with mission support throughout the world. Our connectional structure also sets up accountability responsibilities and offers a variety of ministry resources to choose from in carrying on our plan for ministry. We live out our faith in the Wesleyan tradition guided by scripture, tradition, reason, and experience (Wesleyan Quadrilateral). Together we pray, worship, study and engage in Christian dialog as we live out the challenges of the spiritual life.
All age groups are important in the life of our Providence Church family. Seniors tell us of our strong history and heritage; and share their wealth of experience to help us move forward. Our middle adults offer vital leadership to carry out the day to day nuts and bolts of ministry. Our young adults encourage us to consider new and different ways of thinking as we reach out to a diverse community. Our youth inspire and demonstrate exciting and alternative ways to worship and praise our Lord. The children remind us of the simple truths of the Holy Scriptures and the innocence and purity of being disciples of Jesus Christ. Together, all generations reflect our great heritage and represent the ongoing Christian journey both now and into the future.
Providence Church is building into the future directed by a divine emphasis of being, “God’s Plan, Our Hands.” There is a place for you at Providence Church, and we are making room for you! We are not only physically building onto our church to better carry on current and future ministries, but are also spiritually building the kingdom of God as we grow in our own faith journeys, and reach out to each other and the community; sharing the story of Christ’s love for us in our daily lives and the ministries of the Christ’s Church here at Providence.
Please take time to read through our mission statement, plan for ministry and how we aim to live out those important documents in our faith. We cherish our rich heritage; work to remain grounded in our personal faith in Christ in our present day to day walks of life, and envision our dreams, with the help of the Holy Spirit, as we move forward into the future that is yet to be. Our prayer is that God will continue to form and shape us into more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. There is a place for you at Providence; we welcome and invite you to come in the red doors and be a part of our church family.
